Maintenance Engineer - Revised Description Job Title: Maintenance Engineer Location: UK Hours: 39 hrs per week - Sun-Wed 10pm-6am, Thu 10pm-5am Salary: Up to £45000 Overview An experienced Maintenance Engineer is required to support a high-volume manufacturing operation. The role focuses on minimising downtime, delivering planned preventative maintenance, and enhancing machinery reliability across the site. Key Responsibilities Carry out breakdown repairs and planned maintenance, recording and reporting issues or trends. Provide mechanical and electrical fault-finding support across the plant. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to promote best practice and improve reliability. Work towards departmental KPIs relating to performance, efficiency, and safety. Support emergency breakdowns, including potential call-outs when required. Use relevant tools, measuring equipment, and safe working techniques at all times. Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure work areas remain clean and safe. Install new parts, overhaul equipment, and replace components as required. Keep production teams updated on work progress and machine status. Conduct routine checks, lubrication, and cleaning of machinery. Qualifications and Experience NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical discipline. 17th Edition qualification (preferred). Experience in one or more of the following: robot/welding cells, plastic injection, plastic extrusion, press machinery, rolling mills. PLC I/O knowledge. Understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics. Ability to read engineering drawings. Strong communication and organisational skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage a varied workload. MEWP experience (advantageous). Time-served background highly desirable.
