About the Post The core component of this post is clinical in nature: administration and scoring of psychological tests, undertaking assessments, and providing circumscribed psychological interventions. The role involves supporting the development of trauma‑informed approaches to forensic mental health care. On occasion, the Assistant Psychologist may become involved in clinical audit or service‑related research projects. Regular clinical supervision will be provided, and there are well‑established opportunities within the service for the development of clinical skills. Responsibilities Administer and score psychological tests. Conduct psychological assessments. Provide circumscribed psychological interventions, including group‑based interventions when appropriate. Support trauma‑informed approaches within forensic mental health care. Participate in clinical audit and research projects related to service improvement. Receive regular clinical supervision and engage in professional development activities. Qualifications Experience working with people with mental health difficulties or a similar clinical population. Ability to provide group‑based interventions (advantage). Desirable Attributes Fluency in Welsh (desirable, though English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply).
