Graduate Design Engineer We are looking for a Graduate Design Engineer to report directly to the Design Manager and support the production of discipline‑specific engineering design deliverables for civil engineering projects within the water industry across the UK. You will be involved in the initial concept design and development of solutions through to detailed design, commissioning and completion, with opportunities across all business streams and working with industry experts. Key Responsibilities Technical Design Produce civil engineering design in line with specifications and standards, producing calculations, drawings, risk assessments and design certificates Attend sites to assist with surveys and data gathering; progress to operate independently Build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external contacts to maximise efficiencies Coordinate design details and obtain independent checks and/or third‑party technical approvals (e.g. rail works) Ensure design outputs meet CDM, health & safety and environmental compliance Technical Support Highlight issues or improvements that maximise efficiencies or enhance procedures Prepare effective design outputs and provide technical guidance to projects Collaborate on value‑engineered alternative solutions during design or construction phases Administrative Support Assist with developing and maintaining processes, procedures and standards for technical design Help with record‑keeping and producing notes/minutes of design meetings Essential About you Degree/HNC qualified, or equivalent, in civil engineering Good knowledge of construction methods, processes and civil engineering principles Experience using AutoCAD and MS Office Attention to detail and proactive approach to identify and resolve issues Caring and Investing in You We are a people‑centric company committed to your well‑being and career aspirations.
