We take pride in the opportunities and environment we create for top talent to thrive and leave a positive impact in our communities and society.About the Role – Due to an increasing forward workload, we are currently looking to appoint an experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer within our Edinburgh Office. The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects spanning the energy, transportation, industrial, retail, residential and commercial sectors. The available roles offer clear routes for career progress for those looking to proactively advance their careers having achieved chartership status.RESPONSIBILITIESManipulation and interpretation of geotechnical data from site investigations for wide range of schemesPrepare ground models and design parametersUndertake modelling and analysis reviewsUndertake Geotechnical analysis and design e.g.Pile design, Settlement, slope stability assessments etcTraining and mentoring of junior staffSupport managers with bid preparation and business development.QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCEAn MSc in Geotechnical Engineering would be advantageousChartered membership of the ICE or Geological Society is required.Ability to manage multiple projectsExperience of modelling software such as Holebase, Slide, Settle 3D, Wallap etcFlexible and enthusiastic approach to working within a team structureGood communication skills across disciplinesWHAT WE OFFER YOUCompetitive salary and excellent flexible benefits packageComprehensive training opportunities and reimbursement of professional feesContributory pension, personal health care plan and life insurance33 days annual leave (inclusive of Public Holidays)Annual leave purchase and buy-back schemeBonus Schemes including loyalty bonus and qualifications awardAdditional benefits may vary between officesYou can learn more about our staff benefitshere.ETHOSWe, at Fairhurst, know that progress within the industry is all about people.
