Position Trainee Planning Enforcement Officer / Planning Enforcement Officer – Pembrokeshire County Council Job Details Salary – Trainee: Grade 5 (£26,403 – £27,694); Officer: Grade 6 (£28,142 – £31,022) Contractual hours: 37 per week Basis: Open‑ended Category: Planning Job reference: REQAA6840 Responsibilities The role supports the Planning Enforcement Team by investigating potential breaches of planning control and assisting with the full range of planning enforcement duties. The successful candidate will: Assist Planning Enforcement Officers in investigating breaches and developing necessary skills to progress to full Officer role. Coordinate with officers within the Development Management Area Teams and other departments. Apply established processes and procedures to recommend resolutions for planning control breaches. Work under the supervision of Senior Officers and manage a workload of investigations. Qualifications Trainee Planning Enforcement Officer: Minimum 3 A Levels or NVQ Level 3 in Geography, Law, Construction, or Protective/Public Services. Degree-level customer‑focused experience (front‑facing public role). Planning Enforcement Officer: HNC/HND level in a relevant discipline (Construction Management/Surveying) or equivalent extended experience. Preferable experience in planning enforcement, planning related discipline, or a similar environment.
