About the Company:

Join a leading logistics company based in Glasgow that keeps supply chains moving across the UK and beyond. They are committed to maintaining seamless IT operations to support business-critical systems. Due to a recent internal promotion, they are looking for a 1st Line IT Support Technician to provide efficient and friendly technical support to our internal teams.

Role Overview:

As a 1st Line IT Support Technician, you'll be the first point of contact for all IT-related issues across the business. You'll provide day-to-day technical support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues to ensure smooth business operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to develop their IT career in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

This role will require you to travel to sites as and when required so any successful applicant will need to be able to drive with access to a vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

User Support & Troubleshooting:

  1. Provide 1st line technical support via phone, email, and in-person across various locations.
  2. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.

Active Directory & User Management:

  1. Create, modify, and disable user accounts in Active Directory (AD).
  2. Manage group memberships, permissions, and password resets.

Hardware & Software Maintenance:

  1. Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  2. Perform regular system updates, patches, and antivirus checks.

Network & Connectivity Support:

  1. Assist with basic network troubleshooting, including Wi-Fi, LAN, and VPN connectivity.
  2. Identify and resolve issues related to network performance and connectivity.

Skills & Experience Required:

  1. Knowledge of Active Directory (AD) and user management.
  2. Experience troubleshooting Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11).
  3. Basic understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  4. Hands-on experience supporting desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  5. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and email configurations.
  6. Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software-related issues.
  7. Excellent troubleshooting skills with a methodical and analytical approach.
  8. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  9. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple support requests in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills (Nice to Have):

  1. Basic knowledge of Hyper-V
