Phlebotomy Manager – Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust The Phlebotomy Department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) is part of the Eastern Pathology Alliance (EPA), a managed Pathology network that includes NNUH, James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn. The department provides ward‑based phlebotomy 7 days a week and outpatient phlebotomy on the NNUH site. The role requires a leader who can apply clinical skills, manage a busy service and act as a technical and operational lead for phlebotomy at NNUH. Main responsibilities: Communicate departmental and Trust initiatives to staff through meetings, written communication and one‑to‑one discussions. Represent Phlebotomy at Trust and regional level, attending meetings and collaborating on service improvement projects. Develop and present business cases and service improvement projects to senior EPA and NNUH management. Work with senior management and stakeholders to plan and implement phlebotomy projects. Analyse complex data, identify improvement opportunities and develop strategies to meet changing service demands. Act as the primary point of contact for technical and clinical advice on phlebotomy. Line‑manage a team of approximately 40 staff and coordinate a sub‑team of about 10 bank staff. Person Specification: Qualifications Level 5 qualification in management or equivalent experience. Trained and competent in venepuncture with detailed knowledge of techniques. Experience Experience in recruitment and interviewing. Experience of procurement.
