Salary: Grade B SCP2 pro-rata to reflect the hours and part time, term time nature of the post Location: Hudson Primary School and Family Wellbeing Centre Contract: Temporary Working Pattern: Part Time/Term Time Hours: Between 5 and 10 hours per week during term time only. Hudson is based in Maghull, Merseyside and we provide education for approximately 300 children from ages 3-11 years, from a range of backgrounds and a range of needs. Job requirements: The Governors of Hudson Primary School and Family Wellbeing Centre seek to make the appointment of a Lunchtime / Welfare assistant. This post is part time and is between 5 and 10hrs per week over the lunchtime period. Exact hours will be agreed with the successful candidate. This position could involve work across both EYFS and our SEN Unit so experience of either would be useful and should be detailed in your application. This is a fixed term post initially until 17th July 2026 with a distinct possibility of permanence. Responsibilities Supervise the canteen/lunch areas at meal times under the guidance of the management of the school. Supervise the playground/outside play area during the lunchtime period. Supervise indoors during wet lunchtimes. Be part of the team that covers the basic first aid of children during lunch time. Implement the school behaviour policy during the lunchtime. Work as part of the lunchtime team and support colleagues where appropriate. Assist in providing general care and welfare to children. Help the children organise games and help them to play appropriately. Supervise and control groups of children. Contribute to the maintenance of a safe environment for the children. Undertake any other duties that the Headteacher/SMT may deem reasonably appropriate to the role of the lunchtime staff. Benefits A caring and supporting ethos. A happy and positive school.
