Project Planner/ Planning Engineer – Civil RailSalary: £45-£75k+pkgLocation: LondonRegions: London, Middlesex, South East, SurreyA Tier 1 Civil Engineering contractor, with a proven track record for winning work across the UK, is currently seeking a Project Planner to work on a high-profile station redevelopment based in Central London. In the heart of the City, this position is easily commutable from various locations, and the contractor you will be working for has an excellent development structure in place to help the ideal candidate take the next step in their career.Spec:Build, optimise, and implement appropriate planning and programmes (including resources, outages, consents, and wayleaves)When necessary, produce detailed trackers to be used to collect and report progress made on a weekly/monthly basisDevelop a deep understanding of contracts such as NEC and its requirementsWork closely with the project team to maximise the potential of each project, attend site meetings when necessary to discuss progress, and update the project plan together with reporting back on any knock-on effectsRepresent the business at client meetingsWork with the Planning Manager to ensure that the planning function interfaces effectively with the other departmentsSupport programme integration, governance, formats, plan optimisation, and planning best practicesGather benchmarking information to aid the Value For Money (VFM) assessment on each projectMonitor and control programme compliance in respect of our contractual obligationsQualifications:HND/Degree level education in a Business/Finance/Engineering/Project Management discipline or equivalent – EssentialPTS – DesirableCSCS Card – Desirable3 years+ Experience including Civil Rail Projects with a Sub/Main Contractor – EssentialProgressed from an engineering background (e.g., Site, Section Engineer, or Planning Engineer)Excellent P6 knowledgeIt is essential that if you are looking to apply for this role, you have progressed from an engineering background to be considered.
