Consultant Gastroenterology - University Hospital in EssexUNIVERSITY HOSPITAL – CONSULTANT GASTROENTEROLOGIST VACANCYWe have been assigned by an NHS University Hospital based in the East to help recommend them a Consultant Gastroenterologist for a substantive or 12 month NHS Fixed Term position just 50min train ride from Central London.Our client is looking to appoint an expert Endoscpopist well versed with ERCP, oesophageal stenting and dilation procedures. The successful candidate will work in the Gastroenterology Department but will not be expected to take part in the general medical rota. Further opportunities exist for the successful candidate to develop a sub-specialty such as hepatology.Our client performs near 300 ERCP procedures per year and has a well developed Gastro service including:Ward based GastroenterologyEndoscopy Unit with 3 procedure rooms (with plans for a fourth)Therapeutic endoscopy including ERCP, oesophageal, colonic stenting and EMREndoscopic ultrasound (in development)Capsule endoscopy with dedicated capsule nurseOut of hours GI bleeding service (365 days per year) with two on call nurses2 IBD nurse specialists with nurse led IBD clinicas and anti TNF infusion facilities1 endoscopy nurse2 colorectal cancer nurse specialists and 1 upper GI nurse specialist5 colorectal surgeons2 specialist GI radiologistsColorectal and Upper GI MDT's as well as benign GI radiology MDTNutrition sister and specialist liver/hepatitis clinic and outpatient venesection & paracentesisAdditional Information:10 PA's per weekDevelopment of own Subspecialty InterestExcellent leadership opportunities for experienced ConsultantsFantastic CESR opportunity for those wanting to progress to Consultant with an excellent support systemA modern University HospitalExcellent modern facilitiesExcellent Post Graduate Medical Centre50 minutes from LondonBenefits:Excellent Remuneration packagesExcellent relocation packageFull leadership training & development supportGMC registration is essential however specialist registration is not.
