At HCG, every voice is valued, and everyone belongs.Senior Medical WriterLocation: UK office based/hybridAbout The RoleJob Purpose:Day-to-day lead in the development of the highest-quality, scientifically accurate, and strategically astute content and creative deliverables consistent with client requirementsQualities And AttributesExcellent writing, communication and listening skillsAbility to work independently and driven to deadlinesTeam player able to navigate a variety of departmentsProficient in Word, Excel, Dynamics and PowerPointAbility to expertly communicate scientific concepts both written and verbalExperience interacting and communicating with KOLsEssential DutiesServe as the key day-to-day contact for day-to-day account activities and deliverables:Lead and develop content with minimal review/direction, including data understanding and ability to communicate to a wide range of complex projectsProvide support with developing/second-setting communications and content as neededEngage with team members to ensure projects are moving in a timely fashion and working to offer solutions for any issues that ariseLiaise with client review team (RAMMP, PROGRES, CRC, Veeva, etc), as appropriatePartner and lead interactions with KOLs with regard to publications, content and live eventsIdentify and manage freelancers and fact check/quality control check materials they produceBe the lead contact along with account team partner for assigned accountsParticipate in, and lead regular update meetings with clients and internal teamsEnsure the update of weekly project and production status gridsUndertake tasks outside of the specifics of the job description where business reasons require itCreate, develop, and finalize Scientific Services deliverables for a wide range of project typesDemonstrate the ability to communicate clearly to different audiences through a variety of media (print and digital)Develop outlines for a range of scientific materials and project deliverables for clientsProduce scientifically accurate deliverables utilizing the latest and most applicable dataDevelop creative briefs for overall design conceptsEvolve content consistent with client and internal feedback in order to produce strategically astute piecesPartner with account team to ensure deliverables are approved within relevant timeframes and in accordance with client policies relating to processes and permissionsFacilitate a strong cohesive team within the Scientific Services Department, and wider agency teamsWork closely with all team members of the Scientific Services Department, demonstrating commitment to achieving individual and wider team goalsMaintain a strong relationship with the Client Services department, sharing daily updates and collaborating to deliver the highest-quality projects for our clientsCoach junior team members to realize their potentialLead scientific support on accounts for both internal and external stakeholdersProactively enhance knowledge in relevant fields as well as the field of medicine in generalKeep up to date on the latest data and happenings within accountsProvide updates both internally and externally on relevant and important developmentsCommunicate effectively and professionally with key opinion leaders and physicians in the relevant field, where appropriate during projectsEducation And ExperienceAn advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, RPh, MS, RN, MD) in a scientific/medical discipline is required. Education in biomedical sciences is preferred2-3 years of experience working in medical education, medical communications, pharmaceuticals, publishing, or publications planning and development is preferredThis position may require domestic/international travel, including on weekendsOmnicom Health is committed to hiring and developing exceptional talent.
