Go back Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Upper GI Straight to Test Support Worker The closing date is 17 December 2025 Sherwood Forest Hospitals are looking for a proactive and organised Support Worker to join our Upper GI Team at King’s Mill Hospital, supporting the delivery of high‑quality care for patients with suspected Upper Gastrointestinal (UGI) cancer. Key Responsibilities Act as a first point of contact for patients, carers, and healthcare professionals – handling face‑to‑face, telephone, and email enquiries. Support the UGI CNS to identify the needs of upper GI cancer patients, contributing to the Holistic Needs Assessment process where appropriate. Provide general information and support regarding patient pathway and diagnostic tests, enabling patients to navigate the health and social care system and make optimal choices. Maintain and update spreadsheets and databases to track patient activity and support service audits. Assist with the administrative running of nurse‑led tele‑clinics and health and well‑being clinics. Order and manage educational resources for patients. Support the CNS team in data collection and audit activities to improve service delivery.
