St Austell, United Kingdom Cornwall Education Learning Trust Full time

Trust-Wide Early Years Specialist SENDCo Are you an experienced Early Years practitioner with a passion for inclusion? Do you believe that every child, from birth to five, deserves the very best start — no matter their needs? If so, we’d love you to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher with significant Early Years SEND expertise to take a leading role across all CELT schools. As our Trust-wide EYFS Specialist SENDCo, you will shape inclusive practice across Nursery and Reception, ensuring early identification, high-quality intervention, and excellent outcomes for children aged 0–5. You will be a key member of CELT’s Specialist SEND team — working alongside other specialist SENDCos, school leaders, and external professionals to ensure a consistent, supportive, and child‑centred approach across the Trust. SEND Leadership and Trust-wide Collaboration Provide specialist support and guidance on all EYFS SEND matters across CELT schools, ensuring consistent, high-quality practice in early identification and provision. Work collaboratively as part of the CELT SEND Team and Specialist SENCOs (e.g., Cognition & Learning, SEMH) to provide holistic, cross‑phase support. Drive the implementation and fidelity of the CELT SEND Policy and the SEND Code of Practice (0–25), identifying and addressing variance in practice. Support Trust and school leaders in the ongoing development and expansion of inclusive Nursery provision, working closely with CELT’s in‑house and partner specialists — including Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists and other external professionals — to ensure early years environments are inclusive, nurturing, and well‑equipped to meet a wide range of needs. Statutory Compliance, Funding, and Partnership Working Work closely with parents and carers, providing guidance, reassurance, and clear communication throughout assessment, support planning, and transition processes, ensuring families are valued and active partners in their child’s journey. Ensure statutory compliance across all Early Years SEND processes, including the graduated approach, monitoring, and reporting. Lead the strategic coordination of Early Years Inclusion Funding and related funding streams, ensuring robust auditing, evidence‑based applications, and equitable allocation. Maintain strong working relationships with Cornwall Local Authority SEND, Early Years Advisory Teams, and EHCP Coordinators to enable smooth transitions, referrals, and placements. Oversee the quality assurance of EHCPs for EYFS pupils, ensuring that plans are outcome‑focused, reviewed on time, and support effective transition into primary settings. Professional Development, Coaching, and Quality Assurance Design and deliver targeted professional development for EYFS Leads, and Nursery Managers across the Trust, ensuring high‑quality, evidence‑based practice. Lead a structured programme of quality assurance and moderation, including audits of provision mapping, intervention impact, and data analysis. Provide coaching and mentorship to EYFS practitioners to build confidence, competence, and consistency in early identification and inclusive practice. Advise on the strategic deployment of resources, and assistive technology to enhance early learning outcomes for children with SEND.
