The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will play a key role in supporting the Federations strategic and operational objectives through high-level data analysis, interpretation, and presentation. All our clinical services are led by clinical leads who work as part of a team with Federation managers.We are a network of nine PCNs which consist of 48 GP practices covering a population of over 390,000 patients across East Lancashire. Patients are at the heart of everything we do, and we pride ourselves in ensuring our patients feelsafe, supported, communicated with and respected, at a time when they may be feeling vulnerable. The Alliance are proud to represent our member practices and to champion our Primary Care Partners, by working with local general practice and other system partners in the provision of patient centred local healthcare services.Each practice has a close-knit team of staff who collectively seek to improve the health of their patient populations.Job responsibilitiesMAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESData Extraction & ManagementExtract, transform, and analyse data from clinical systems, commissioning datasets, and internal service databases.Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with information governance standards.Analytics & InsightProvide meaningful analysis to support service delivery, contract performance monitoring, and business planning.Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within population health, service utilisation, and workforce data.Translate complex datasets into clear, evidence-based insights to inform senior leadership and clinical decision-making.Contract & Bid SupportProduce high-quality data analysis to support new service development, business cases, and tender submissions.Model population demand, activity forecasts, and financial implications for proposed services.Develop and maintain dashboards and reports in Excel (and other BI tools if applicable).Use advanced formulas, pivot tables, and statistical techniques to provide clear outputs.Present data in an accessible and compelling way for clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.Work closely with operational leads, clinical directors, and commissioners to understand data needs.Support service leads with tailored analysis to monitor KPIs and contractual obligations.Impact of the RoleThis role is pivotal in ensuring that the GP Federation has the intelligence required to:Demonstrate value and outcomes to commissioners.Secure new business opportunities through robust, evidence-based bids.Drive continuous improvement across the organisation.Training & DevelopmentFully participate in training and development, meeting any and all requirements of any courses funded or part-funded by the Alliance.Engage in a programme of ongoing support and feedback to maximise the benefit of the training and development plan.ConfidentialityIn the performance of the duties outlined in this job description, the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, staff and other healthcare workers.
