Operations Manager - Manufacturing - £65k

An established and growing manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of its production and operational functions. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring efficiency, quality, cost control, and timely delivery across all operations.

You'll lead a small team, driving operational performance through strong leadership, continuous improvement, and a focus on health, safety, and quality. This role would suit a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in manufacturing operations who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage production and planning activities to meet business goals.

Own operational KPIs and report performance to senior leadership.

Champion 5S and continuous improvement initiatives across all operations.

Oversee production scheduling, resource allocation, and capacity planning.

Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and EN 9100 standards.

Collaborate with sales and other departments to align operational capacity with customer demand.

Manage budgets, control costs, and maintain operational excellence.

Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to your team to foster engagement and accountability.

About You

Proven experience managing operations in a manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and process improvement tools.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Commercially aware, with sound financial and analytical acumen.

Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable:

Qualifications or formal training in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement.

Experience in small-to-medium manufacturing environments.

Familiarity with SAP
