Residential Child Care Worker – Pebbles Care Join to apply for the Residential Child Care Worker role at Pebbles Care. This role specialises in children’s residential care, offers flexible hours, and requires a full UK manual driving licence. Responsibilities Ensure children and young people are cared for in every aspect of their lives, keeping them safe, supporting education, cooking, cleaning, and participating in fun activities. Support care teams across several homes in the same area. Receive full induction, shadow shifts, and in‑depth training, including introduction to Therapeutic Parenting. Cover as many shifts as possible; at least one shift every four weeks is required to remain in the role. What We Offer Hourly rate £12.75 – £13.53 per day hour, plus £80 per sleep payment, based on qualifications and training. Zero‑hour employees may cover 24‑hour shifts, including sleep overs, or part‑time daytime shifts. Accrue paid annual leave for every hour worked (full‑time equivalent is 28 days). Referral scheme of £400 for each successful referral. Comprehensive introduction to Therapeutic Parenting. Essential Qualities Highly responsible and accountable for safeguarding children and young people. A desire to pursue child care qualifications and training. A nurturing and caring nature. Patience and resilience to form non‑judgmental relationships. Active and supportive listener. Creative ability to have fun and learn new skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient IT skills and experience using Microsoft packages. Full valid UK manual driver’s licence. Desirable Qualities One year’s experience working with children or young adults. SCQF Level 7 (Scotland) or Level 3 Diploma (England) relevant to Children and Young People’s Residential workforce, or desire to work toward this. Familiarity with Codes of Practice set by regulatory bodies, e.g. SSSC / Ofsted. Existing PVG / DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one. Application Process Complete our online application form.
