As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a talented Marketing Executive to join our team. SMG was established in 2019 by Director David. David felt frustrated, having worked in large agencies previously. He noticed that profits and revenues were often placed before clients’ needs, and strategies were often sold to a client that suited the agency more than the client. In 2019, David decided to start an agency that was flexible in what they deliver and passionate about client needs and has since gone from strength to strength, growing each year and has big plans for 2026. The ideal candidate will thrive in a client-facing role, regularly interacting with clients via video calls and emails, and in-person meetings and must feel confident representing SMG to provide creative solutions. More than anything, the ideal candidate should be passionate about getting results for clients. At SMG, we aim to have multiple case studies and reviews per client and have our clients recommending us and referring to us new business, as we always go above and beyond. The ideal candidate will both take direction from the Creative Lead and Director and collaborate well with other external team members. However, they will also be happy working autonomously, bringing fresh ideas to the client and putting their own stamp of excellence on their work. What We Offer Salary: £27k–£32k (dependent on experience) Location: The role is mostly remote, although the candidate will need to travel to meet with the Director/team once per week. Therefore, a Newcastle or Northeast-based location is needed. Technology Package: MacBook & iPhone provided. Collaboration: Working with a small but experienced team of marketing specialists to collaborate on ideas and marketing strategies across multiple channels to offer maximum impact for clients. Progression: We are growing as an agency, and the ideal candidate would have opportunities for progression as the agency expands or as the role develops. The Role This role is perfect for someone with experience in social media and website project account management, who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. You’ll be expected to collaborate with the Creative Lead and external web designers to brief on project updates, manage social media channels, create written content for socials & blogs, and liaise with clients to support their digital needs, all while maintaining strong communication with clients. You will also support the Creative Lead with SMG’s in-house marketing and collaborate with the team on how to best position SMG to the world. Must-Have Skills Marketing experience (preferably in an agency setting) Social media content management and ideation Organic social media management (LinkedIn, Instagram & Facebook mainly) Copywriting Account management Monthly client data-driven reporting Ability to conduct Industry-specific research Ability to find insights and areas of improvement in social media strategies Willingness to utilise AI & Automation to increase efficiency Nice-to-Have Skills Paid social media ad management (Meta Business, LinkedIn, TikTok) Photography / Videography / Editing / Graphic Design Wider marketing knowledge, e.g. SEO Full UK driver’s license At SMG, we’re more than just a marketing agency; we’re a team dedicated to client success and collaboration.
