Training Programme Director – Clinical Radiology KSS-1 (Kent & Surrey) We are seeking two outstanding individuals to fill the role of Training Programme Director for Clinical Radiology under KSS-1, one at Kent and one at Surrey. The geographical assignment will be discussed and confirmed upon appointment. Each vacancy is for 0.75 PA. The Training Programme Director works closely with the Head of School to lead and support the delivery of a wide range of educational functions in line with NHS England mandates. The Director is professionally and managerially accountable to the Head of School and focuses on improving learner supervision, assessment and experience, faculty engagement, and ensuring effective educational outcomes now and for the future. The role is evolving and will also focus on whole‑workforce transformation and developing multi‑professional links. In support of the Postgraduate Dean, the Training Programme Directors will work across health and relevant social care to ensure that education reflects changing service models. They will help deliver an integrated workforce of professionals from a spectrum of backgrounds. Responsibilities Oversee the Clinical Radiology Training Programme Address specialty‑specific matters and trainee/trainer concerns Recruit to training posts and programmes Manage the postgraduate programme, including assessments, progression, rotations, support and remediation, OOP management, trainee management, career support, part‑time training, inter‑deanery transfer, academic training and other related work‑streams Qualifications Ideal candidates are experienced NHS Consultants with a thorough understanding of Clinical Radiology training across the region, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as a member of a multi‑professional team. Agreement must be obtained from the employer before submitting the application. If you are successful at interview, we will run an Inter‑Authority Transfer (IAT) in the Electronic Staff Record system (ESR) to gather statutory and mandatory competency status, continuous service dates, and annual leave entitlement. The post is offered on a secondment basis; candidates are responsible for securing a written agreement from their Trust/Practice for release from clinical work for the specified number of PAs/sessions.
