Our agile working approach allows our teams to thrive in a supportive and adaptable environment while delivering high-quality care.**You will be based at one of our Surrey-wide office hubs,** working out in the community, with the flexibility of hybrid working to support your professional and personal needs.##### Main Responsibilities* Provide safe, effective care to children in their homes and the community, as delegated by the Named Nurse.* Recognize safeguarding concerns and follow appropriate procedures.* Maintain competencies in specific clinical skills and be familiar with emergency procedures, including escalation and resuscitation when needed.* Support children’s development in partnership with families and the team across various settings.* Help maintain a safe, stimulating environment and record the child’s condition, taking appropriate action.* Organize daily activities and attend training and supervision sessions.* Complete the HCRG Care Certificate within 3 months (if required) and stay updated with relevant training.* Follow infection control and health & safety policies, maintaining confidentiality at all times.* Communicate effectively, especially in situations with communication barriers, and liaise with the child’s care team.* Participate in team meetings, maintain accurate records, and support colleagues by sharing information and addressing concerns.**Schedule:*** 24/7 service with night shifts across the year, including weekends.**Please see attached job description for a full list of responsibilities**##### ##### Ideal Candidate**Essential*** Understanding the impact of providing/receiving care in the home for children with complex medical needs and their families* Ability to participate in training of new staff in a variety of settings.* Willingness to work towards “experienced to teach” part of Competency Framework* Excellent oral and written communication skills* Ability to relate to children.**Desirable*** NVQ 3 in health or social care or recognised nursery nurse qualification* GCSE in Maths and English* British Sign Language level 1* Makaton* Experience of relevant clinical procedures and technology dependency* Minimum of 1yr experience working with children with complex health needs* Minimum of 1yr working with children in other setting, e.g. nursery, respite service**Other requirements:** the successful applicant will need to have a full driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.**Please see attached Job Description for full Personal Specification.**### Children's Community Carer - Surrey* **Salary** Starting salary of £24,486 plus Group Pension* **Frequency** Annual* **Job Reference** HCRGCG/TP/24475/17873* **Contract Type** Permanent - Full or Part Time* **Closing Date** 11 January, 2026* **Job Category** HCRG - Additional Clinical Services* **Business Unit** HCRG - Surrey 0-19* **Location** South West Surrey, United Kingdom* **Posted on** 07 December, 2025
