Physical Healthcare Nurse

Job Summary Priory Hospital Stockton Hall is looking to recruit a Physical Healthcare Nurse to join the team for a full‑time role of 37.5 hours per week. Roman Ward is a recently opened 12‑bed Medium Secure ward within the well‑established Stockton Hall Hospital, providing care for men with a principal diagnosis of mental illness and complex physical health needs. Main Duties You will be part of a compassionate team committed to patients’ wellbeing. You will support qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans and undertake routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate patients’ wellbeing, dignity and treatment. Provide support to nursing and wider MDTs to ensure patients in the defined area have their physical healthcare needs identified, care planned and evaluated in accordance with best practice and clinical evidence. Offer advice and support to colleagues on physical healthcare needs, including infection control, screening programmes and site‑specific requirements. Person Specification – Qualifications Essential Qualified Registered General Nurse (RGN) with at least 2 years post‑registration experience, active NMC registration and a completed preceptorship programme. Knowledge of NMC guidelines and professional practices. Evidence of post‑registration continuing professional development. Desirable Experience as an RGN in Mental Health or Learning Disability services, demonstrating competence in the requirements for the role and the ability to become a Qualified Mentor within 12 months of appointment. Knowledge of NMC guidelines and professional practices. Evidence of post‑registration continuing professional development.
