We’re looking for a Technical Writer to join our product development team in Broxburn, West Lothian. If you find yourself interacting with products, thinking “I have no idea how I am supposed to use this, they should be explaining it better” then keep reading. This role is all about ensuring all of our product guidance is clear, concise and easy to understand so our customers can get the most out of their products from day 1 of usage. This is a junior role within our Product Development team perfect for someone wanting to kick‑start their career in Technical Writing. What you’ll do Live and breathe Ooni products so you can translate complex product features into easy‑to‑understand guidance for our customers Embody our value of rigour, ensuring documentation is delivered to a world‑class level of detail but with maximum accessibility Create the content for physical and online technical documentation, including packaging, user manuals, essential guides and FAQs Implement processes and ways of working that expedite and control the consistency and quality of Ooni documentation Work with stakeholders across the business including product development, compliance, legal and marketing teams to ensure consistency and understanding Ensure all documentation meets relevant legal requirements in each of our markets Ensure consistency in tone, voice, and messaging across all mediums Verify any product claims are robust and sufficiently proven before committing to print Carry out comprehension studies to validate the materials Minimise the environmental impact through the optimised use of diagrams and symbols and the minimal requirement for translations. Create technical images using existing 3D models What you’ll need to succeed Experience in technical writing such as developing user manuals, online FAQ’s or other technical documentation Experience managing legislative requirements, such as those found in standards or directives Experience of digital copy and other asset management & control tools. Experience interpreting risk assessments and other risk management toolsExperience in user experience copy, drafting clear concise instructions and performing user testing to verify processes Excellent verbal and written communication with a comprehensive grasp of English Ability to plan project deliveries and work to deadlines Ideally a degree or qualification in Engineering Why Ooni?
