Service Engineer (Field/Mobile Mechanic/Vehicle Technician) Location: Tamworth Territory, United Kingdom. Contract: Monday to Friday, 40 or 45‑hour contracts. Salary: £31,000 – £39,000 starting, with potential £40‑45k OTE. You’ll enjoy a field‑based role within a small geographical location, offering extensive on‑the‑job training, a generous benefits package and clear progression routes. Suitable for engineers from any kind of plant, forklifts, HGV, agricultural or similar equipment. This is also a great opportunity for vehicle technicians looking to move into a new industry – the company will fully train. You need to demonstrate mechanical service and repair skills, ideally have engine diagnostic and basic electrical skills. Responsibilities include carrying out planned maintenance and breakdown coverage on a range of forklifts and associated equipment in Tamworth. No extensive travel is required, and overtime is mostly in the week. Key Responsibilities Carry out PPM and breakdowns on materials‑handling machinery on a field service engineering basis. Reactive breakdown coverage within the allocated geographical area. Complete comprehensive training to become fully competent on all machinery and equipment. Ensure spares are placed in van overnight. What We’re Looking For Experience with plant, forklifts, HGV, agricultural or similar equipment, automotive technicians/motor trade also suitable.
