The role

As a Safety Case Engineer you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will manage the delivery of engineering and technical activities, through the application of process, domain knowledge and experience.

Day to day, you'll develop hazard management strategies and participate in HAZID / HAZOP studies.

  1. Author radiological safety assessments, including Hazard Management Strategy, Safety Reports (PSRs and PCSRs etc. and equivalents).
  2. Produce and check calculations, design basis documentation and technical reports.
  3. Manage the delivery for the work undertaken by the Supply Chain as appropriate and maintain an overview of progress against cost and programme, and the management of project risks, for the work undertaken within their agreed remit.
  4. Maintain an overview of technical and safety case strategies being delivered, and the key arguments used, to share 'best practice' between projects.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and offers hybrid working, with 2 days required onsite, and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Safety Case Engineer
  1. Chartered Engineer status (or actively working toward Chartered Status).
  2. Experience in working collaboratively in multi-discipline teams to deliver activities on a range of project types.
  3. Demonstrable experience in covering a variety of tasks across a range of complexities.
  4. Good communications skills and the ability to interface with other disciplines.
Essential qualifications of the Safety Case Engineer
  1. Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) in relevant engineering discipline, with significant demonstrable experience.
Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Further details are available at United Kingdom Security Vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK.
