UK Health and Safety Manager – Starbucks EMEA We’re looking for a health and safety manager to join our team here at Starbucks UK. A place where you’re valued, challenged, and inspired. As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting our Store Development and Facilities teams across the UK. There will be a key focus on new store openings and upgrades, consulting on new processes and ways of working, and partnering with our Retail Safety team to create alignment. We’ll look to you to bring your proven experience in health and safety management within a store development or construction environment. You’ll have a diploma (or equivalent) in Health & Safety from a recognised qualification route, plus additional qualifications in fire safety and construction safety, with strong relationship‑building skills with internal teams and external suppliers. We’re looking for a subject matter expert who can prioritise effectively and respond to emergencies with confidence and having previous experience in writing policies and processes. Key Responsibilities Leading fire safety Management, developing and implementing fire safety strategies, overseeing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance across all store development projects and facilities Act as the business fire safety competent person and manage relationships with external fire safety contractors Ensure structural safety and regulatory compliance for new builds and refurbishments, oversee health and safety for construction and refurbishment projects, ensure contractor compliance and safe working practices Create and maintain policies and processes for facilities operations, deliver training, and conduct audits to foster a strong safety culture Act as trusted advisor on health and safety matters, support investigations, and manage emergency response actions Complete schematic reviews for H&S and advise the design function on areas of improvement; enabling the Principal Designer to deliver their H&S duties Oversee compliance with CDM Regulations, ensuring all duties under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations are met across projects Analyse data to identify areas for improvement in store development safety standards; create learning tools, identify engineering solutions to eliminate issues, and contribute expertise to the H&S strategic agenda Ensure all H&S‑related complaints relevant to store development are fully investigated, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner; identify trends and advise the business on future mitigation Represent Starbucks at meetings with external regulatory bodies, suppliers, and other third parties Keep up to date with industry developments and legislation and advise the wider function on future areas of focus through horizon scanning to contribute to the H&S strategic plan Benefits 25 days holiday a year (plus Bank Holidays) Up to 10% bonus Flexible benefits – in addition to the benefits listed we’ll also provide you with an additional 4% to allow you to select the benefits that suit you Life assurance and private medical insurance for yourself Comprehensive training (including coffee knowledge) and access to Starbucks Global Academy – our online learning platform to help continuously develop yourself Free bag of coffee each week and a 30% partner discount on food, beverages, and merchandise Discounts with local and national retailers (cell phones, gym memberships, entertainment tickets, hotels, etc.) through Perks at Work platform Subscription to Headspace Home Sweet Loan (interest‑free loans that can be paid back over 12 months to help pay your rental deposit) Bean stock options for all partners (own part of Starbucks) A free 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme available to you and your family Employment Details Seniority level: Not Applicable Employment type: Full‑time Job function: Legal Industries: Manufacturing, Food and Beverage Services, and Retail EEO Statement Starbucks is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce.
