The role As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You lead the design, integration and maintenance of high-integrity EC&I systems across nuclear facilities. Your work ensures regulatory compliance, enhances operational safety and supports the UK's clean energy and defence infrastructure. Day-to-day, you’ll be Leading the delivery of robust EC&I engineering solutions that meet nuclear safety, reliability and regulatory requirements Collaborating with a specialist team focused on safety-critical systems across nuclear operations and decommissioning Supporting multidisciplinary projects within the Engineering Business Unit and aligning with strategic programmes Interfacing with internal stakeholders (project managers, safety case authors, commissioning engineers) and external partners (regulators, clients, suppliers) Ensuring all work meets industry standards, site licence conditions and quality assurance frameworks This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working 37 hours per week, based at one of our key Cavendish Nuclear locations. You’ll benefit from hybrid working arrangements, with three days a week on site at either Moor Row (Cumbria), Warrington (Cheshire), Leicester (Leicestershire) or Bristol. Essential experience of the Senior Electrical Engineer: Designing and delivering EC&I systems for regulated environments Applying nuclear safety standards (e.g. IEC 61508, BS EN 61511) and ensuring compliance with ONR regulations Working within cross-functional teams to deliver complex engineering projects across the nuclear lifecycle Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to resolve design issues and support project delivery Producing and reviewing technical outputs such as specifications, calculations and safety case contributions Qualifications for the Senior Electrical Engineer: Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Instrumentation or a related discipline Chartered Engineer status or working towards it is desirable Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
