Job Purpose: Finance Business Partner

  • Responsible for delivering high-quality financial advice and commercial & financial expertise to the organisation.
  • Take a full and proactive approach in managing & delivering timely financial and management accounting services.
  • Responsible for providing comprehensive & innovative support to senior managers & councilors on a range of propositions.
  • Act as an integral member of the finance management team, drawing on specialist expertise to identify, develop & support opportunities and initiatives to transform the delivery of financial services & governance across the council, contributing to strategic and operational developments.

Main Responsibilities: Finance Business Partner

  • Budgeting and medium to long-term financial planning.
  • Forecasting and Financial Reporting.
  • Business Partnering.
  • Provide trusted proactive robust strategic and operational financial management, commercial & financial planning advice, and support related to option analysis, business case development, and budget management.
  • Ensure that effective financial controls are in operation.
  • Oversee the detailed revenue and/or capital budgets.
  • Lead on the provision of high-quality financial and commercial insight.
  • Lead and coordinate development of the council's Capital and Investment Strategy.
  • Lead on the development, coordination, and financing of the council's capital programme.

Person Specification: Finance Business Partner

  • Local Authority experience.
  • Fully qualified.
  • Business Partnering experience.
