The Tax Reporting Team The Tax Reporting team focuses on a broad range of corporate clients, meeting their tax advisory and compliance needs amidst fast‑paced economic change and complex legislation both in the UK and overseas. Our corporate clients include listed multinationals, large entrepreneurial businesses, and domestic owner‑managed businesses. About the Role As a school leaver apprentice you will enter a four‑year training contract as a Tax Trainee. Your key duties include assisting with corporate tax compliance and advisory services for a portfolio of clients, preparing corporation tax computations and returns, and ensuring accurate representation of clients’ tax positions. During Your First Three Years, You Will Learn how to use Alphatax and related processes to prepare a corporation tax computation and return, and learn how to prepare tax numbers for financial statements. Develop a thorough understanding of financial statements and clients’ businesses to complete corporation tax computations. Obtain relevant information from other departments and clients, building strong communication across the firm. Help write reports and produce other client deliverables to explain issues, risks, and solutions in easy‑to‑understand language. Support the team with client relationships and requests. By The End Of Your Fourth Year, You Will Have a structured client portfolio focusing on tax reporting to manage. Work on a range of different tax reporting and advisory engagements across UK tax covering a range of technical areas. Develop a great technical knowledge of the UK tax legislation. Coach and lead more junior team members on advisory engagements. Understand how different corporate entities operate across a range of sectors. Work directly with clients, building relationships to deliver on repeat engagements. Begin to manage tax reporting engagements, including planning, budgeting, and project managing across service lines. Develop a keen understanding of our control and risk‑management procedures. Support business development and bring new client wins to the team and portfolio. Who We're Looking For On track or have obtained A‑level, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications. Excellent academic performance is important, but we consider the whole candidate. Deep curiosity to learn new things and naturally inquisitive. Learning and Development You will receive fully funded professional qualification (ACA/CTA) and learning support, including coaching, mentorship, and one‑on‑one guidance to grow, belong and make an impact. Training combines in‑person and virtual sessions. A buddy will help you settle into your first year.
