OverviewManufacturing Technician Wire EDM Lapping & HoningFull Time-Nights shift- Sunday to Thursday- 10pm to 6amSolihull Birmingham UK.ResponsibilitiesOperate, maintain and optimise advanced machining equipment to ensure the highest standards of quality, safety and efficiency.Machining Operations: Set up, operate and monitor Agie Wire EDM, including manual lapping and Hone of Valve sleeves; interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and working instructions to produce components to exact tolerances; perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment (micrometres, calipers, CMMs).Process Optimisation: Identify and help implement improvements to manufacturing processes, collaborating with Manufacturing Engineers to enhance productivity, reduce waste and improve component quality.Equipment Maintenance: Conduct proactive and preventative maintenance activities to optimise performance of machining equipment; highlight concerns with product material and measurement equipment that may affect customer quality or safety standards.Quality Assurance: Adhere to Rolls-Royce quality standards and aerospace industry regulations; document production data, inspection results and non-conformances accurately, prioritising product safety.Health, Safety and Compliance: Follow all health, safety and environmental policies to maintain a safe working environment.Team Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams including manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, production staff, team leaders and production managers to achieve production targets and solve problems.QualificationsNVQ / SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline including completing a time-served recognised apprenticeship, or equivalent experience.Experience in manufacturing operations & production environment.Able to work to technical instructions and adhere to fixed process and quality standards.Confident in interpreting engineering drawings.Knowledge & experience of a wide range of inspection techniques.About Rolls-RoyceWhy Rolls-Royce: We value agility, collaboration and simplicity; we invest in continuous learning and development and offer opportunities to grow your career.Additional InformationGrade: CDS TECH06Closing Date: 30/09/2025Recruiter: Adam WhalleyJob Category: Factory StaffPosting Date: 16 Sept 2025Posting End Date: 29 Sept 2025Required Experience: ICKey Skills: Lean Manufacturing, Hand Tools, Basic Math, Math, Mechanical Knowledge, Assembly Experience, Computer Literacy, Schematics, cGMP, Clamp Truck, Programmable Logic Controllers, ManufacturingEmployment Type: Full-TimeExperience: yearsVacancy: 1Location: Solihull, UK #J-18808-Ljbffr
