Junior Estimator

Join to apply for the Junior Estimator role at Sudlows.With the continued expansion of our award-winning technical services company we have a growing portfolio of projects and a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Electrical Estimator to join our estimating team.Key AccountabilitiesUndertake site surveys to obtain sufficient information and details to allow a suitable scheme and design to be prepared.Collate costs from supply chain, review for accuracy and completeness.Assist in the preparation of electrical and supply chain project cost estimates for our projects.Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine the scope of work and required materials.Perform quantity take-offs and develop cost summaries under the supervision of a senior estimator.Assist with obtaining prime cost for each project.Read, understand specifications and drawings.Carry out takes offs from drawings and specifications.Use of Estimating software (Trimble) – training will be provided.Obtain lead times and durations from the supply chain, feed into the Head of Projects to offer input into the tender program.Assist with formal submission of tenders.Assist with the preparation of the proposal documents.Review proposed scheme with design team and attend peer review meetings to gather knowledge of the project.Update various Sudlows documents.Liaise with supply chain and sub-contractors to gather required information.Obtain quotes from supply chain to assist with the preparation of the Sudlows estimate and quotation.Communicate with departmental head, providing regular updates of work load and submissions.Ensure that all Sudlows processes and procedures are adhered to.Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the estimating department.What We OfferCompetitive salary and benefits package.Opportunities for professional growth and training.Supportive team environment with mentorship from experienced estimators.Exposure to diverse and challenging projects.Type: PermanentLocation: ManchesterRate: To be negotiated dependent on experience.We are an Equal Opportunities Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
