Junior Clinical Fellow - General/Acute Medicine An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Clinical Fellow to join the Medicine Business Unit at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust. This post is aimed at Doctors who would like to gain more experience in Medicine before committing to a particular career pathway. Main duties of the job The post will be based within Medicine and there might be opportunities to work in a variety of Medical specialities including Cardiology, Stroke Medicine, Elderly Medicine, Acute Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Diabetes & Endocrinology and Gastroenterology. Job responsibilities Responsible for the admission, clerking and day to day care of their patients on the General Medical wards, as assigned. Participate in the on-call rota. Participate in audits and current research projects. These are available through individual Consultants. Attend the active postgraduate programme with weekly lectures, radiology, medical and pathology meetings, and medical unit presentations. Participate in the teaching of Foundation Doctors at the bedside as well as to Medical Students. Involvement in Quality improvement projects. To maintain a good working relationship with existing staff members in the hospital. To perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate Consultant in conjunction, where practicable, with their colleagues both senior and junior. Person Specification Qualifications MBBS or equivalent Studying towards Part 1 of MRCP Experience Completed Foundation Year 1 level in the UK or equivalent Completed Foundation Year 2 Level in the UK or Equivalent At least 1 year experience in an NHS setting Experience at IM/CT/ST 1 level in the UK or equivalent Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. £52,656 a yearPlus allowances for out of hours working #J-18808-Ljbffr
