Receptionist The Sidcup Care Home 2/8 Hatherley Road, Sidcup DA14 4BG £12.25 - £13.25 per hour Permanent Contract Set Shifts: Tuesday & Thursday 08:30-15:30 14 hours per week (holiday cover for weekends when needed) The Sidcup offers nursing and residential care, both long‑term and short‑stay care. Job Description The Sidcup is a purpose‑built home with modern comforts and conveniences. It prides itself on a warm, homely environment where residents can relax and feel safe inside the home and in the gardens. All bedrooms have en suite facilities and are furnished to a high standard. The home consists of two floors, with dining rooms and lounges on each floor. It also has its own cinema lounge, large well‑maintained gardens, a hairdressing salon and a private lounge, ideal for family events and celebrations. Visiting professionals such as physiotherapists and chiropodists are available. Weekly GP visits are conducted at the home, enabling residents to receive regular, personalised medical reviews as part of a person‑centred care approach. At mealtimes a wide range of nutritious dishes are offered, always made with fresh ingredients. The chef considers residents’ dietary needs and personal preferences, visiting residents to tailor menus if necessary. Regular tea rounds throughout the day include fresh cakes after lunch. Regular organised activities such as quizzes, bingo, film afternoons, board games, arts and crafts, trips to local places of interest, visiting entertainers, pantomimes, tai chi, holistic massage and aromatherapy are also available. You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By Acting as the first point of contact for all visitors to the home Taking responsibility for managing new enquiries Providing advice and support both face‑to‑face and over the phone Conducting show‑arounds within the care home Supporting the Home Manager and Administrator with clerical duties such as maintaining paperwork and filing Dealing with enquiries in a timely manner and ensuring daily and weekly tasks are completed Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role You’ve worked as a Receptionist before, providing excellent customer service. You have a friendly manner both face‑to‑face and over the phone, are approachable, organised, and able to build strong relationships with residents, their families and internal teams. You are dedicated, efficient, able to handle a varied workload, and your caring attitude underpins everything you do – to make a real difference to people’s lives.
