Learning Support Assistant This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a caring, inclusive school where relationships and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do. As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping pupils with additional needs engage fully with their education. You’ll work alongside teachers and tutors to deliver personalised support, create engaging learning experiences, and celebrate every achievement, no matter how small. Each day will bring fresh challenges and rewards as you help pupils build independence, resilience, and confidence in themselves. If you’re patient, creative, and passionate about helping children succeed, this could be the perfect role for you. Key Responsibilities Support teachers and tutors in delivering high-quality, individualised learning experiences. Provide one-to-one and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum and reach their potential. Promote pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development through encouragement and positive relationships. Assist in preparing and maintaining engaging classroom environments and resources. Uphold school policies and safeguarding practices to ensure every child feels safe and supported. Qualifications GCSE Level or equivalent in English and Maths. Full UK driving licence required (may involve working across both of our school sites in Backworth and Ashington). Benefits Work 80% of contractual hours for 100% of pay (subject to successful completion of probation). 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial, working one day less each week while retaining full-time pay.
