Lecturer in Computing – Birmingham Join GEDU Global Education to teach across a range of undergraduate levels as part of the BSc (Hons) Computing programme. The role is based in Birmingham (on-site) and requires flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Role Highlights: Deliver modules centred on Technology, Software, and Data. Develop comprehensive course materials covering database systems, internet technologies, data, cyber security, networking, and business information systems. Handle all aspects of learning, teaching, assessment, and student support. Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess student work ensuring learning outcomes are met. Develop, update, and improve course materials. Use a variety of teaching methods and materials. Engage in staff development, peer observations, meetings, and administrative duties. Stay up-to-date with latest developments in your field and student support practices. Work towards clear objectives for student attendance, completion, satisfaction, and progression. About You Hold a Master's degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable). Have previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area. Show extensive knowledge of two or more of: programming and software development, web development, database systems, cloud computing, networking, cybersecurity, IoT, business IT systems, IT management, AI & machine learning, operating systems, UI/UX. Have experience supervising student work and providing feedback. Maintain accurate reporting and thorough, organised student records. Work under pressure, prioritise workload, and meet tight deadlines. Exhibit excellent communication, interpersonal, and team‑working skills and work effectively with diverse groups. Desirable Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent, or commitment to enrol in a teaching programme within probation and complete within three years, or Fellowship of HEA (or international equivalent).
