cer Financial are working alongside a European bank, who are based in the City of London. They are seeking a Credit Analyst to work with them on a permanent basis.

In this role you will report to the Head of Credit Risk. You will provide risk analysis on a portfolio that consists of project finance, corporate, acquisition finance (LBO), real estate finance and any other structured finance activity originated within the Credit Risk London perimeter.

The responsibilities of a Credit Analyst will include:

  1. Liaise with business lines and ensure that all requests are processed in a timely manner at the appropriate decision level.
  2. Check that each request is in line with the Bank's relevant risk policy.
  3. Provide an independent and written credit analysis on each credit request.
  4. Present the Risk recommendation to the credit committee and/or delegation holder.
  5. Review and validate the internal ratings proposed by the business lines.
  6. Ensure that annual review and rating updates are done in a timely manner.
  7. Actively monitor the risk profile of the existing client portfolio.
  8. Report watch list counterparties either as part of the routine watch list reviews or by raising a specific credit alert.
  9. Provide back-up for other credit analysts of the London Credit Risk team.
  10. Assist in transversal tasks when necessary.

The successful Credit Analyst will have:

  1. Finance and/or Economics background
  2. Strong financial analysis and modelling skills
  3. Detailed knowledge of the European project finance and LBO markets
  4. Ability to produce detailed and concise risk analysis
  5. Ability to assess, present and explain complex transactions and new activities to management
  6. Thorough understanding of typical legal documentation
