Support Worker – Riverside Job Details Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £26,549.63 per annum (£27,722.51 per annum after 18 months of successful performance) Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week Working Pattern: 5 days a week of 7.5‑hour shifts, covering every other weekend; 0700‑1500 (Early), 1500‑2200 (Late), one 7.5‑hour day shift between 0800 and 1800 as required Location: The Victoria Project, Cambridge Job Title: Support Worker Seniority Level: Entry level Employment Type: Full‑time Industry: Non‑profit organization (social housing) Responsibilities Provide psychological‑informed and trauma‑informed support to vulnerable customers, helping them build life skills and independence. Co‑create bespoke support and move‑on plans with customers, family and other support providers. Organise and conduct regular reviews of support and risk plans, and respond to incidents or significant changes. Assist customers with day‑to‑day support and tenancy‑related matters. Identify and promote opportunities for employment, education and training, and signpost to external services (e.g., food banks). Support customers in becoming ‘tenancy ready’ and financially independent through budgeting and income maximisation. Manage medication procedures and support self‑management of medication. Lead group work and other support initiatives. Ensure safety by following safeguarding procedures, assessing risks and escalating appropriately. Record, update and maintain accurate customer information on the digital platform. Facilitate referrals and assess potential new customers. Assist with housing management duties, including income collection and tenancy support. Maintain a safe environment by reporting repairs, health and safety concerns, and preparing rooms. Resolve challenging situations sensitively, balancing individual needs with service safety responsibilities. Develop local partnerships to deliver a holistic range of support services. Carry out day‑to‑day administration and operational duties. Participate in team meetings, supervisions, reflective practice sessions and ongoing training. Travel to various properties within the defined area as required. Use the Lone Worker system when necessary. About You Experience working with vulnerable people and delivering structured support and risk management. Team player with a caring, empathetic, flexible and resilient can‑do attitude. Understanding of supporting vulnerable people, including those with lived experience of homelessness, or drug/alcohol addiction. Ability to work flexible hours, including outside normal office hours and lone working. Competent administrative and IT skills for reporting and communication. Why Riverside?
