Graduate Engineering Design - Civil Explore a graduate career developing water and wastewater infrastructure, including pipelines and treatment facilities. The Graduate Engineering Design Programme offers a blend of learning and real‑world experience to future civil engineers. Program Structure The 27‑month programme consists of three 9‑month placements across engineering design, delivery, and digital capability teams, giving exposure to a range of projects from sewerage systems to clean‑water distribution. What You’ll Learn Project and people management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning. Commercial acumen, cost and quality control. Design and delivery of infrastructure across multidisciplinary teams. Customer‑centric communication and community engagement. What We Are Looking For Passion for making a difference in vital services. Strong educational background in civil engineering (BEng or MEng). Good communication and teamwork skills. A willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review civil design deliverables, including specifications, hydraulic calculations, datasheets, 3‑D models, and schedules. Write contract documentation. Conduct site surveys, investigations and asset condition assessments. Scope solutions as part of a multidisciplinary team. Coordinate with contractors and suppliers for equipment selection, site investigation and design acceptance. Apply British standards, regulations and water‑industry specifications and guidelines. About The Programme Your development will be supported by a mentor, cohort leader, and the New Talent Team. 1‑to‑1 meetings focus on career ambition and progression. Location & Duration Raynesway, Derby, DE21 7BE Duration: 27 months Starting Salary: £31,500 Driving licence: Full UK licence required. Entry Criteria Degree in an ICE‑accredited Civil Engineering program. BEng graduates encouraged to register for IEng; further learning for CEng is required.
