VCGs mission is to design and deploy advanced neural networks and machine learning (ML) for game rendering and streaming systems of SIE that exceed the state-of-the-art in runtime efficiency visual quality and latency.What you'll be doingDevelop and improve the integration of ML workloads within game engines or runtime tools for prototyping of R&D features within real-time gameplay environmentsResearch prototyping and implementation of new methods for fast graphics or post processing and enhancementCollaborate with team members on drafting publications and patent submissionsParticipate and assist the team in core R&D work with other teams within Sony Interactive EntertainmentWhat we’re looking forComputer Graphics Computer Science Electronic Engineering or a related field or equivalent skills evidenced by work experience in the specific domain of the postKnowledge of the graphics pipeline including coordinate transformations between frames of reference PBR materials rasterization lighting and ray tracingMinimum 3 years of experienceEvidence of : Strong C skills and real-time systems experienceDeep knowledge of at least one modern graphics API (DirectX 12)Experience with 3D engines such as Unreal or Unity; in particular generation of datasets access to G-buffers motion vectors etcHands‑on experience in game developmentExperience with GPU debugging and performance profiling toolsFamiliarity with resource barriers descriptors swap chains and synchronizationUnderstanding of rendering pipelines (deferred forward compute‑based rendering)Ability to integrate and support shaders compute workloads and post‑processing pipelines.Collaborate closely with engine tools and ML teams to integrate graphics / ML features into the broader runtimeDesired skillsBasic knowledge of neural network architectures like CNNs transformers and diffusion modelsExperience in image processing theory and methods evidenced by the development of practical designs in this areaBenefitsDiscretionary bonus opportunityHybrid Working (within Flexmodes)Private Medical InsuranceDental Scheme25 days holiday per yearOn Site GymSubsidised CaféFree soft drinksOn site barAccess to cycle garage and showersEqual Opportunity StatementSony is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
