The Donor Care Healthcare Support Worker (DCHSW) is a core member of the multidisciplinary Clinical Donor Care Specialist Team. The DCHSW under the guidance and delegation of the Donor Care Specialist Nurse, is responsible for providing donor care support in line with appropriate clinical SOPs and guidelines to donors and collections teams across Wales. Main duties of the job Communicate effectively with a range of individuals to provide clinical support and guidance both verbal and written format. Accurately enter outcomes, donor medical information and related Nursing documentation into a range of digital applications. Ensure the provision of high-quality and safe donor care in line with organisational standard operating procedures. Deliver clinical induction training to the Donor Contact Centre Advisors. Person Specification Qualifications and knowledge Knowledge and understanding of donor care processes Possess Maths and English GCSEs (Grade A-C) or level 2 essential skills qualification in literacy and numeracy Understanding of Donor Selection Guidance, G.D.R.I and their application in practice Understanding of confidentiality and data protection Welsh Speaker (Level 1) or willingness to work towards Possesses or working towards a level 3 (Qualification and Credit Framework.) Experience Experience of Multidisciplinary teamwork Experience of working within a blood establishment Skills and attributes Effective verbal and written communication and numeracy skills Able to work methodically and accurately often with competing demands Basic IT skills and working knowledge of Microsoft packages Ability to deliver to specified deadlines Ability to work flexibly to accommodate demands Be willing and able to develop own knowledge and skills in line with Healthcare Support Worker Framework Commitment to undertaking required educational qualifications to meet requirements of Health Care Support Worker Framework. Other Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships Ability to adhere to organisational values and behaviours Flexibility to occasionally work outside of normal hours. Ability to travel between sites and across a wide geographical area.
