Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced English and Maths Teacher to deliver one‑to‑one lessons to students with diverse needs, including those with SEND. In this role, you will teach and support students who are unable to attend mainstream schooling, helping them engage with English and Maths studies through tailored and accessible lessons. Lessons may take place in students’ homes, libraries, or other agreed‑upon locations. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver individualized English and Maths lessons that are aligned with the student’s academic level and learning objectives. Teach a range of topics at KS3 and KS4 or equivalent levels. Promote subject understanding, engagement and motivation in students. Remain patient and flexible, adapting lesson content and teaching methods to support students with SEND and other learning challenges. Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff. Maintain thorough records of lessons and progress in line with educational requirements. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or experience teaching English and Maths. Experience in one or more of the following areas is essential: English Functional Skills Entry Level up to Level 2, Maths Functional Skills Entry Level up to Level 2, English KS3/KS4, Maths KS3/KS4. Experience working with SEND students is highly desirable. Excellent knowledge of the English Language and Literature curriculum and related topics. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students in a one‑to‑one setting. Flexibility to work in various locations, including students’ homes or other designated learning environments. A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
