Location: Melton Mowbray Job role: Supply Chain Coordinator RS Safety is the UK’s leading supplier of PPE, safety, and hygiene products to the food manufacturing industry, serving customers across all food sectors. Responsibilities As the Supply Chain Coordinator, you will be responsible for overall purchasing activities, managing and monitoring inventory, coordinating the receipt of goods, and providing general operations support. You will manage key vendors, work closely with the Commercial and Warehouse teams to drive efficiencies, and maintain strong communication under pressure. What you will be doing Create purchase orders for current and forecasted demand, verify pricing, unit of measure, colour, description, size, and delivery dates with vendors. Address delivery discrepancies by coordinating with vendors, follow up on back‑orders, and notify operations of any impacts to projected delivery dates. Support the warehouse team in making effective purchases, maintain the approved supplier database in SAP, and develop positive business relationships with supplier personnel. Qualifications and Skills A highly motivated and positive attitude is essential for a demanding supply‑chain environment. Previous experience in a similar supply‑chain or logistics role. Numeracy and literacy skills. Excellent face‑to‑face and verbal communication. Ability to prioritise and multi‑task in a busy environment. Desire to lead within the department and deputise for the supply‑chain manager. Experience using SAP and Outlook. Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
