Hitachi Energy is seeking a Financial Tender & Project Controlling Specialist (Senior Project Controller) to partner with Project Management on all financial and commercial matters, driving project performance across multiple initiatives. This is a remote-based role based in the UK, with expectation to travel to the Birmingham or Glasgow office sites. Please note we are unable to provide visa sponsorship; candidates must have the full right to work in the UK. Responsibilities Compliance: Supports the Project Manager in adherence to corporate governance, integrity, assurance, internal control, group charter and finance directives. Project execution: Provides input to the Project Execution Plan on financial aspects, updates the Project Cost & Finance Management Plan, prepares invoices, financial accounting, reporting and site accounting. Drives optimisation of cash flow, revenue, GM contribution, oversees currency risk, bonds, guarantees, tax issues, variation orders, finance input to line reporting, petty cash, scope follow-up and maintains accurate balance sheets and forecasts. Monitoring & review: Identifies opportunities and risks, ensures mitigation actions are implemented, coordinates monthly project reviews, prepares cost reports, verifies cost-to-complete, creates customer report input and supports external and internal audits. Commercial terms: Provides support on claim management, back‑charges and insurance cases, monitors follow‑up with the Contract Manager/Project Manager and suppliers. Qualifications Relevant industry experience with project and/or tender controlling; financial degree required. Minimum 5 years in a similar role. Strong critical thinking skills and professional demeanor.
