We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Fire Alarm Maintenance Engineer to join the PHF Fire team. In this role, you will carry out the planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, testing, and minor installations of fire detection and alarm systems across commercial, industrial, and residential sites in accordance with UK fire safety regulations and British Standards. Key Responsibilities Perform routine inspections, testing, and servicing of fire alarm systems in line with BS 5839-1 and company procedures. Complete fault diagnosis and repair work, ensuring systems are fully functional and compliant. Carry out small remedial works and system modifications as required. Provide clear and accurate service reports, certification, and job documentation using company systems. Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed, including working safely on customer premises. Communicate effectively with customers, providing professional advice and ensuring a high level of satisfaction. Identify opportunities for system improvements or upgrades, passing leads to the relevant teams. Ensure company vehicle, tools, and equipment are maintained in good order. Skills and Experience At least 4 years’ experience working with fire alarm systems. Strong knowledge of BS 5839-1 and relevant fire safety legislation. Good electrical/mechanical competency and practical problem-solving skills. Experience with leading fire alarm brands (e.g., Apollo, Kentec, Advanced etc) is desirable. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong communication and customer service skills. Full UK driving licence. Qualifications (Desirable but not essential) FIA or equivalent training modules. Electrical qualifications beneficial. ECS/CSCS card. What We Offer Overtime opportunities.
