A fantastic school in Calne are seeking a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as next week. This school supports children and teenagers aged 3 to 16 with a range of additional learning needs including: Autism, Speech and Language Difficulties, learning disabilities, mental health challenges and physical disabilities.

The Role:

Support students in a small class setting, helping them with learning activities and personal development.
Use creative and therapeutic approaches (e.g., sensory play, Makaton, PECS) to support communication and engagement.
Build strong, trusting relationships with students and become a positive role model in their lives.
Work closely with the teachers, speech therapists, and educational psychologists to develop tailored support strategies.
Help students build life skills, as well as manage and handle challenging behaviours.This is a fantastic opportunity if you are a recent graduate, looking to build your experience in SEN and mental health. You will gain on-the-job training in autism strategies, behaviour management and communication techniques - excellent skills for those considering a career in Educational psychology, Speech Therapy, or Counselling.

The school is seeking a graduate with a degree in Psychology, Education or Health & Social Care, who is kind, patient and compassionate. While prior experience working with children or vulnerable adults is beneficial, a genuine passion for supporting young people is the most important factor
