About the RoleAs a Payroll Analyst you will be responsible for administering end-to-end payroll operations across our India Market. You’ll partner with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery while driving continuous process improvement and automation within our Workday payroll ecosystem.This is an individual contributor role requiring strong technical expertise in Indian payroll legislation, statutory compliance, and employee taxation. You’ll act as the regional payroll subject matter expert (SME), supporting regional expansion and ensuring governance and accuracy across all payroll cycles.What You’ll Be DoingLead the end-to-end India payroll process — from data preparation and validation to review and final sign-off, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory and internal requirements.Support other Payroll entities within the team where necessary outside of India.Oversee vendor management for outsourced payroll processing using our outsourced payroll provider Cloudpay, maintain SLAs, and control checks.Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Legal to ensure seamless data flow and payroll accuracy.Stay up to date with Indian statutory changes (PF, ESI, Income Tax, LWF, Gratuity, Bonus Act, etc.) and ensure all payroll processes and systems reflect current regulations.Ensure timely remittance and filing of all statutory contributions and returns (PF, PT, TDS, etc.).Drive process optimization by identifying automation opportunities and implementing best practices for scalability and efficiency.Act as SME for Cloudpay payroll in India — supporting system enhancements, testing, and integration projects.Prepare and reconcile payroll-related journals and reports for Finance; ensure audit readiness and compliance with internal controls.Provide mentorship to junior payroll analysts or coordinators, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.Support regional/global payroll initiatives, ensuring alignment with Deliveroo’s broader payroll strategy.RequirementsPayroll experience, including significant exposure to India payroll processing and statutory compliance.Deep knowledge of Indian payroll legislation, including TDS, PF, ESI, Gratuity, and Bonus Act.Experience with Workday/Cloudpay is preferred but not essential.Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and ensure data integrity across multiple systems.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across functions and levels.Demonstrated ability to lead payroll improvement initiatives and contribute to system and process design.Advanced Excel skills; ability to perform complex reconciliations and analyses.Why DeliverooOur mission is to transform the way you shop and eat, bringing the neighbourhood to your door by connecting consumers, restaurants, shops and riders.
