WASTE PROJECT LEAD – Reading / Aldermaston Salary: Up to £37,500 per annum plus Bonus and Pension Scheme (total package up to £43,125). Location: Aldermaston with Hybrid working (9‑day fortnight). Grade: 5.1. In this exciting Waste Project Lead opportunity you will work a 9‑day fortnight, 25 days holidays plus bank holidays, while leading Operational Excellence and Environmental Compliance Initiatives. You will manage client relationships, drive innovation, conduct safety audits, and optimise waste management processes. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead operational excellence and environmental compliance initiatives. Manage client relationships and provide high quality assurance delivery. Conduct safety and process audits, complete root‑cause analysis, and maintain risk assessments and method statements. Facilitate innovation meetings, propose new solutions, and ensure efficient implementation within budget. Attend client and non‑client meetings (on‑site and online) and collaborate with other suppliers. Use IT systems to generate transport documents, reference safety data, and create quotes. Help Veolia and clients reach net zero targets and maintain the Ecological Transformation plan on site. Stay up to date on waste legislation changes and industry standards. QUALIFICATIONS Background in a waste environment. Strong client handling and assurance delivery experience. Proactive, problem‑solving mindset with a passion for continuous improvement. Ability to provide practical, proactive business advice for clients. Advanced knowledge of waste treatment technologies. Experience with waste tracking systems. SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER – Reading, Berkshire Hybrid working. You will lead structural design projects from inception to completion, ensuring technical excellence, adherence to timelines, and client satisfaction. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead design and analysis for residential, commercial, and industrial structures. Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications. Conduct structural inspections, surveys, and site visits. Manage project delivery: resource allocation, budget control, and schedule management. Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and stakeholders. Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians. Ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and regulations such as Eurocodes. Supervise site construction to verify design implementation. Assist in proposals and tenders for new projects. Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes. QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering. Chartered Engineer (CEng) status highly desirable. Minimum seven years post‑graduate structural engineering experience. Proficient in Tekla, Robot, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, etc. Strong understanding of UK building regulations and Eurocodes. Proven project management and leadership experience. Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills. Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel. WINEP PROJECT LEAD – Reading, Berkshire (RG1 8DB) Permanent contract, salary £46,000‑48,000 per annum. Hybrid working from Reading office, 2 days a week. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide technical lead for WINEP low‑flow investigations, Reg 19 exemption applications, and Environmental Destination programs. Critically review consultant reports and drive technical excellence. Manage appointed consultants to meet regulatory deadlines. Support development of Water Resources Management Plan 29 and Environmental Destination Scenarios. Engage with regulators and stakeholders to ensure programme success. Develop catchment monitoring strategies with consultants and the Water Resources Team. WHAT YOU’LL BRING Strong technical knowledge of WINEP and Water Framework Directive. Experience in water resources or environmental regulation. Technical degree (environmental, hydrology, hydrogeology, or related) and professional membership. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and data analysis skills. IT proficiency and ability to produce high‑standard reports. Valid driving licence and access to a car. TECHNICAL LEAD WASTE CONTRACTS – Oxford, Oxfordshire (OX1 1AY) Permanent contract. Lead the technical and operational delivery of outsourced waste disposal contracts, including Energy Recovery Facility, household waste recycling centres, and landfill operations. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the full lifecycle of waste contract services: design, procurement, and contract management. Ensure compliance with national waste policy and deliver value for money. Shape strategic plans and oversee budgets (≈£34 m revenue). Represent the council at the Oxfordshire Resources and Waste Partnership. Provide expert advice to stakeholders and respond to enquiries and FOI requests. Champion health, safety and wellbeing in service delivery. QUALIFICATIONS Relevant degree or equivalent experience in waste management. Full membership of a recognised professional body preferred. Strong knowledge of waste legislation, environmental standards, and circular economy principles. Experience managing high‑value contracts and large budgets. Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills. Valid driving licence and access to transport. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, Business). 5+ years experience as a Project Manager; 5+ years in IT infrastructure projects. Experience with PRINCE2, Agile, PMP, or equivalent. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in MS Project, Jira, Asana, or similar tools. Excellent risk management and problem‑solving abilities. Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation. LEAD PROJECT MANAGER – Oxford, Oxfordshire (Hybrid) Senior IT infrastructure project leadership focusing on large‑scale technology initiatives and digital transformation. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead end‑to‑end delivery of complex IT infrastructure projects. Define scope, deliverables, and success criteria with senior stakeholders. Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and risk assessments. Manage and mentor project coordinators and junior managers. Communicate status and challenges to executive leadership. Ensure compliance with project management best practices. Manage vendor relationships and contracts. Oversee hardware, software, and network system implementations. Facilitate post‑project reviews and continuous improvement. Align projects with business objectives and champion change management.
