Organisational Development service to support Academic Heads and Managers and to enhance the staff experience. The role holder will support the People and Organisational Development (POD) Business Partners in the delivery of People Advisory service to academic schools. Responsibilities Support and work alongside a team of POD Business Partners in providing an excellent POD consultancy service to Academic and Professional Services Heads of Schools/Directors and Management, on all aspects of people management. Act as a first point of contact for advice on terms and conditions of employment, best practice and people management policies and procedures. Contribute to and support POD projects as directed by the Assistant Director, POD. Provide advice and guidance to managers on all people related issues and policies including informal and formal absence and performance management issues. Provide guidance on and process occupational health referrals and support managers in agreeing reasonable adjustments. Support POD Operations team in ensuring advice and guidance on recruitment is accurate and consistent, including job design, selection methods and onboarding. Ensuring that recruitment processes are effective and in line with Goldsmiths' policies and best practice. Undertake job evaluations in line with Goldsmith's evaluation method (HERA) ensuring consistency. Support POD Business Partners with complex employee relations cases and change management including providing administrative support and attending meetings as required. Support POD Business Partners in delivering POD policy and management training sessions and workshops. Provide secretarial support to the Academic Progression and Titular Awards Committee as well as Pay and Progression, and People and Organisational Development Committee. Contribute to development and implementation of POD policies and processes. Provide notes and administrative support for formal casework and committee meetings as required. You will be required to undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required. Ensure that you are aware of and aligned with Goldsmiths' Regulations, Strategy, and Objectives to proactively advance Equality and Diversity. At all times help maintain a safe working environment by participating in training as necessary and following the Goldsmiths' Health and Safety Codes of Practice. Essential Criteria CIPD qualified or relevant HR experience A,I, CIPD qualified or working towards a qualification A,C. Essential criteria 2 – Experience: Experience of working in an HR department A,I,R; Experience of providing HR advice on a range of HR issues to managers A,I,R; Experience of providing HR support on informal and formal employee A,I,T,R relations case work. Desirable Criteria Experience of working in Higher Education A,I,R; Experience of working in a unionised environment A,I. Essential Criteria 3 – Knowledge Up‑to‑date knowledge of statutory employment rights and legislation, A,I HR best practice and ACAS guidelines. Good understanding of best practice in promoting equality and A,I diversity in the workplace. Excellent IT and word‑processing skills; experience using Microsoft A,I Word and Excel, and HRMI systems. Excellent written communication skills with ability to draft non‑standard A,I,T emails and letters. Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to build working ,I relationships and influence and negotiate with others. Professional approach, including absolute discretion, diplomacy and ,I sensitivity. Prioritising own workload in an organised manner while balancing I multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team A,I.
