As Lead Practice Nurse you will have a number of additional responsibilities including:Infection controlStaff mentoring, training, supervision and appraisalsUpdating relevant policies and risk assessmentsUndertaking auditsAbout usWe are a small and friendly practice located on the outskirts of Leeds.Our team currently consists of 5 GP's, a nursing team of 5 made up of Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, a reception team of 5 Care Coordinators and 5 Administrators. We also have a Practice Manager and Assistant Practice Manager.Job responsibilitiesDopplersCervical screeningManagement of long term conditionsVaccinations, immunisations and other injectionsRoutine checks eg bloods, blood pressure, urinalysisProviding advice and guidance to patientsStock ordering and monitoringIdentifying and supporting practice developmentProviding effective and dynamic leadership and managementRota managementMentoring and supervisionPerson SpecificationQualificationsRegistered with the nursing and midwifery councilQualified in cervical screeningRecognised qualification in at least one relevant long term condition eg diabetes, COPD or asthmaKnowledge and skillsKnowledge of health promotion and its applications in primary careEvidence of continued professional developmentAbility to provide quality careGood interpersonal and communication skillsExperience of working in a GP practiceDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
