Job Summary We have an exciting opportunity for a Dietetic Assistant to join our Healthcare team at HM/ICR name, a category C prison located in Oxfordshire. HMP Huntercombe is a male foreign‑national prison. The role supports the dietician with dietetic plans, weekly weigh‑ins, weight management, dietary advice, promotion of healthy eating and lifestyle, exercise, measurements, health promotion, screening patients, care plan for diabetes and long‑term conditions, and other related tasks. Hours & Salary Hours: 15 hours a week (not on Fridays) Salary: Annual salary up to £30,166 FTE – pro‑rata for 15 hours. Time‑based pay is intended to reflect experience. Responsibilities Screen patients to collect qualitative and quantitative data via face‑to‑face and telephone methods. Deliver behaviour‑change weight‑management and self‑management for long‑term conditions – group and one‑on‑one sessions – under the dietitian’s supervision. Collate patient information, including dietary information packs for education sessions. Adjust information sheets for patients in partnership with the dietitian. Teach patients safe dietary and physical activity behaviours, including food hygiene, weighing, menu planning, recipe adaptation and safe exercise. Qualifications (Essential) Willingness to learn and self‑develop, including continuing professional development. Non‑judgmental, compassionate, patient‑centred approach.
