Are you a Psychology graduate looking to take the first step into a meaningful, rewarding career in education? A warm and inclusive SEN school in Salford is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team and support pupils with a range of needs including MLD, SLD, PMLD and Autism. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your understanding of behaviour, development and emotional regulation in a real-world classroom setting. You'll work closely with experienced teachers and support staff, helping to deliver personalised learning, promote independence and create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.Your RoleProvide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with diverse special educational needsAssist with daily routines, sensory activities and differentiated learning tasksUse your psychological insight to promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeingContribute to EHCP targets and personalised support plansBuild trusting relationships and encourage confidence, communication and engagementWork collaboratively within a strong, supportive SEN teamWhat We're Looking ForA recent Psychology graduate (or related field)Passion for working with children and young people with additional needsResilience, patience and a nurturing, empathetic approachStrong communication skills and a genuine desire to make a differenceExperience with SEN (desirable but not essential - full training provided)What the School OffersAn exceptionally supportive and welcoming staff teamOngoing training and development opportunitiesA rewarding role where no two days are the sameThe chance to gain invaluable experience for further careers in psychology, teaching, social care or therapyIf this role sounds of interest to you and you have a DBS on the Update Service or are willing to process one, please applyThis role is subject to an Enhanced DBS (child and adult workforce), satisfactory references, and full compliance with KCSIE (2024) guidance and safer recruitment standards.
