Production Engineer – Advanced Materials Manufacturing
Location: Hailsham, East Sussex
Salary: Competitive, permanent role
Working Hours: 39 hours per week
Start Date: Immediate
A growing international engineering organisation is seeking a Production Engineer to join its manufacturing team. The business operates in the advanced materials sector, producing high-performance metal powders used across multiple industries, including additive manufacturing and high-precision engineering. The company name will remain confidential.
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded engineer to gain hands-on experience in powder production, equipment operation, and process optimisation, with full training provided.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate and maintain production equipment used in the manufacture of metal powders
* Work with the Production Team to meet production orders safely and efficiently
* Load raw materials, melt, and atomise metal alloys in controlled environments
* Set up and run powder processing equipment, including sieving and blending machinery
* Test and analyse powders using laboratory equipment
* Conduct planned maintenance and manage consumables associated with production
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
* Operate overhead cranes safely and effectively
Required Knowledge and Skills
* Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
* Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
* Equipment maintenance experience
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Proactive and able to work independently
* Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces
* Full UK driving licence
* Computer literate
Desirable (Optional) Experience
* Lean Manufacturing practices
* Fork-lift (counterbalance) licence
* PLC controller operation
* Metal melting experience
Additional Information
* Full training provided for specialised production processes
* Screening and criminal record check required
* On-site role with potential occasional travel
